Dear 2007/2008 Mission Team Members
to Nigeria:
You all have truly been a great blessing and a vision of
hope to me and the people of Ikono in Akwa-Ibom State of
Nigeria. Thank you for making our our mission trip a
success.
I, like you all have returned home from the mission trip and
have had the opportunity to reflect on all our mission
activities. Just being able to make a trip like this is by
itself a victory. The trip was monumental and really
special for me for many reasons that I may not be able to
enumerate. But what stands out first and foremost was your
presence. Your presence made history. The trip was also
special because for the first time in 10 years, my family
was able to travel to the mission field. Like all of you,
they were able to witness, got involved and saw things for
themselves that have been going on since 2001. Another
landmark was Bro. Lynn Nelson's presence/involvement and the
award of the Chieftaincy Title to him. This event was also
very big for me and my people. Above all, we held the first
ever Gospel Meeting on the Grounds of the Family Center. Oh
how God was glorified through your teachings to children,
women and men and the whole village was brought to life
because you were there. Putting all these activities
together, you can see why we believe that your presence was
the glue that bound the mission trip together and our God
was lifted higher. You helped to fulfill a long held dream
and in the process blessed my people. You came and made
everything very easy for me.
Thank you Nelson, Jamila, Felicia, Willie, Edwards, Elbert,
Pamela, Mary, Joyce, Jean and Lamar for all that you do for
the love of Christ. I pray that you have recovered well from
the trip.
Again, thank you for the opportunity to know you and to
serve our God together. The Christian Family Mission exists
to bring souls to Jesus, to bring them up in Jesus, to
bring Glory to God. We shall do this by meeting the physical
and spiritual needs of the people we serve.
